We are very proud to announce that both Canby and Cashes Rivers will be performing at this years’ GDP!!!
Des Moines’ longest running all-local music festival, Gross Domestic Product (GDP), returns for the fifth straight year on Saturday, March 27 at All Play. This years’ lineup is packed with performances from some of the top talent in Iowa. GDP will feature 14 bands spanning the indie, hip-hop, metal, acoustic, electronic, and pop genres.
“Gross Domestic Product is about Des Moines’ emerging indie talent,” says Amedeo Rossi, DMMC project manager. “These bands are recording and releasing new original work; bringing an important aspect to the music culture in Des Moines.”
The DMMC encourages everyone to come enjoy GDP to experience the wide variety of talented bands Des Moines has to offer.
Tickets are on sale now at Midwestix.com for $10 and day of tickets will sell for $15. People that join the DMMC between now and the event will get a free ticket to GDP. Memberships range from $25-$500 and can be purchased on the membership page at DesMoinesMC.com

“There’s a story behind all this. However not that interesting, the fact of the matter is that we can no longer continue using the name Menlo. So it goes.
Not to make a huge deal of it, especially being that there hasn’t even been a full length record yet. Debut record is going to hit you all in March! As I’m writing this I’m listening to it again, and I think its safe to say that you will really like it.
The last official show under the name Menlo will be January the 15th at Ames Progressive. Hope to see you all there! But after that show, we will continue on under the new name: Canby
It will take a little getting used to, but since I’ve started kicking it around in my head, I’ve come to really love the name. I hope you will too.
Aqui Estamos Records signed our first band Cashes Rivers May 2009 and Menlo shortly after in September. 2010 will be an exciting time for us all. To kick off 2010 it has been decided…. We are throwing a party! More details to come.. here are just a few.
